Growth without credible exposure information can hide adverse selection and accumulation. Senior analysis connects portfolio mix, claims development, pricing adequacy, capital use and risk appetite. Set data thresholds, scenario tests and monitoring triggers, then decide whether to reprice, restrict, diversify or add capacity. State evidence, uncertainty and expected effects. State the clause and evidence needed before recommending a defensible decision.

Stable frequency with rising severity points to cost per claim, mix, inflation, litigation or settlement practice. Segment the drivers and validate case reserves before acting. Senior claims management weighs customer outcomes, leakage, cycle time, supplier control and policy promises. A blunt action may lower cost while creating conduct or retention harm. Show the calculation, state the assumption and explain what changes the result.

Risk transfer is a capital and volatility choice, not a premium-only purchase. Compare expected cost, attachment and exhaustion, reinstatements, exclusions, counterparty strength and mismatch between modelled loss and treaty response. Test several scenarios, state uncertainty and show how each option changes net loss and capital needs before recommending a retention. Separate customer outcomes from internal measures, then set out the next action.
C
A target can distort behaviour when treated as the whole objective. Reopenings and complaints may signal under-investigation or poor explanation. Sample files and customer impact, then use a balanced scorecard for quality, fair outcomes, leakage, cycle time and cost. Review exceptions and incentives after observing whether practice changes. Record the control, its owner and review date before closing the case.

Strategic pricing needs credible segmentation and an explicit view of uncertainty. Compare expected loss cost, expenses, exposure trends and customer response at a meaningful level while checking data quality and selection effects. Aggregate figures can conceal cross-subsidies. State the rationale, monitor conversion and retention, and define appetite and affordability guardrails. Compare options against the stated objective and make each trade-off explicit.

A headline ratio can mask concentration and liquidity risk. Decision-makers need scenario severity, aggregation, reinsurance response, counterparty exposure, available liquidity and feasible actions. State model limitations and thresholds for escalation. The paper should support a decision, not merely report a reassuring number without context. Conclude with the decision, uncertainty and an escalation route where needed.
